Tuition Reimbursement
The Purpose:
Occupations, Inc. is committed to the professional development and advancement of our entire staff. Tuition assistance is an essential part of our comprehensive approach to supporting employees in increasing their promotability by aquiring degrees, training, and credentials in fields related to Human Services and Occupations, Inc.The goal of our Tuition Program is to financial assistance to employees who are committed to their own professional development, which will mutually benefit them and the Agency through their long and successful career with Occupations, Inc.
Eligibility:
Full time regular employeees who have successfully completed their initial employment period and who are interested in applying for Tuition Reimbursement should submit a completed application to Human Resources in advance of enrolling for courses, when possible. The courses must be related to your career with Occupations, Inc. Your application must also include a recommendation from your Supervisor, Director, or Mentor supporting your application.
Process:
Final approval of all submitted applications will be granted by the Tuition Reimbursement Committee. Announcements of awards will be made by Januaryu 30th and July 31st.
I. Professional Commitment (Formal approved Career Plan):
Employees who have a formal career plan and are targeted for a promotion may apply for tuition career advancement. Once you are approved for reimbursement in this category, you will be eligible for reimbursement at $215.00 per credit for Masters and $137.00 per credit for Bachelors, for tuition expenses up to a maximum of $4,000.00 yearly.
II. Professional Development (Interestd in Advancement):
Employees who are intersted in career advancement at Occupations, Inc. and have a definite position which they wish to pursue in the future may apply for reimbursement in this category for matriculating towards an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree. One you are approved for reimbursement in this category you will be eligible for reimbursement of 90% of tuition expenses for $213.00 per credit for Masters, $137.00 per credit for Bachelors, and $90.00 per credit for Associates, up to a maximum of $3,195.00 yearly (contingent on availability of Agency funds).
III. Career Development Skills:
Employees who are interested in further developing job-relatd skills may apply for tuition assistance in this category. This includes non-matriculating courses, seminars and certification programs. Once you are approved for reimbursement in this category you will be eligible for reimbursement of 85% of tuition epenses up to a maximum of $300.00 yearly (contingent on availability of Agency funds).
IV. Critical Targeted Professional Certification
Employee’s who perform in a role at Occupations, Inc. that require them to have a specialized knowledge base or skill may apply for tuition assistance in this category. This is limited to a formal certification program which is deemed essential for the Agency’s operation in addition to career development for the individual employee. Once you are approved for reimbursement in this category you will be eligible for reimbursement of up to 95% of the tuition expense up to a maximum of $3000.00 yearly (contingent on availability of Agency funds).
Tuition Awards:
All tuition awards will be approved based upon individual review and will be based upon the category of application, job-relatedness, performance, seniority, and expressed commitment to furthering career opportunities with Occupations. This is no guarantee of an
Award.
In Category I (Professional Commitment) employees are required to remain employed with Occupations, Inc. for two years after receiving reimbursement. They must re-pay Occupations, Inc. for their award if they do not fulfill this
requirement.
In category II (Professional Development) employees are required to remain employed with Occupations, Inc. for one year after receiving reimbursement or they must repay Occupations, Inc for their award if they do not fulfill this requirement.
In category III (Career Development) employees are required to remain employed with Occupations, Inc. for six months after receiving reimbursement. They must repay Occupations for their award if the do not fulfill this
requirement.
In category IV (Critical Targeted Professional Certification) employees are required to remain employed with Occupations, Inc. for two years after receiving reimbursement or they must repay Occupations, Inc for their award if they do not fulfill this requirement.
Grade Requirements:
Category I - To be reimbursed for courses you must get a B- or better.
Category II - To be reimbursed for course work you must get a C- or better (B- required for masters
programs.)
Category III - To be reimbursed employees must show proof of successful completion of course. If you are approved for reimbursement upon registration and you drop the course, or do not pass, you will be required to pay back the full award.
Category IV - To be reimbursed employees must show proof of successful completion of course. If you are approved for reimbursement upon registration and you drop the course, or do not pass, you will be required to pay back the full
award.
